Auction of WA Wines Picnic: Rainy Nights

by Shona Milne on August 18, 2009

Greg Lill certainly picked a good day for his big birthday. What a party! The sun was out when I arrived at Chateau Ste. Michelle  for the Auction of Washington Wines Picnic  to benefit Children’s Hospital and then the weather changed. The dark clouds rolled in and it started to sprinkle and people mostly seemed undisturbed. It is [...]

Seattle Wine Awards: Twitterific

by Shona Milne on June 17, 2009

I attended the Seattle Wine Awards on Sunday at the Rainier Club. It was quite a nice spot to honor all of our fabulous Washington wines. I was invited as press to blog and Twitter live during the event. It was the first time that this was set up for the Seattle Wine Awards. My fellow [...]

I attended “Celebrate Springtime in Woodinville” sponsored by Woodinville Wine Country out at Beaumont Apartments on Thursday. I really wanted to hear Richard Kinssies, NW Wine Critic & owner of the Seattle Wine Outlet, talk about wine tasting and food pairing and wines in Woodinville. It was a fabulous spring day to taste the wines [...]

Bookwalter, Betz,  DeLille Cellars, [...]

Passport to Woodinville: Great Weather & Great Wine

by Shona Milne on April 21, 2009

Most Unique Experience: I started off early on Saturday for Passport to Woodinville. I was trying to get to DiStefano Winery but got stuck behind a Party Bus and it poured out about 20 or so people who created a big line. I made a quick detour to Soft Tail Spirits next door where my friend Laurie Cook [...]

Covington Cellars: A Memorable Experience

by Shona Milne on April 7, 2009

I spent some time at Covington Cellars last week for a couple of events. The first was a Winery After Hours sponsored by the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce which allows member wineries to showcase their business. Our first wine was a Viognier which was paired with a tiny tomato stuffed with cheese and a mini green bean [...]

Covington Cellars: Now Open on Fridays

by Shona Milne on February 1, 2009

It looks like the trend continues with wineries & tasting rooms adding more hours for tastings. I received an email from Covington Cellars announcing that they will now be open on Fridays from 1-5pm in addition to their regular Saturday hours of 1-5pm. This is a trend that I want to see continue.
