If you missed one of the very few times that Gorman Winery opens it doors to the public you have another chance. Gorman Winery will be open this weekend, December 5th and 6th, 12:30-4pm. They will be pouring the 2007 Zachary’s Ladder.

Halloween week was a mad social whirl so it’s taken me a while to get to this. I just finished reading an article in the October Seattle Magazine about Grand Reve Vintners, which is located in Kirkland. They have teamed up with some of our local Woodinville winemakers; Chris Gorman of Gorman Winery, Mark McNeilly of Mark Ryan, and Ross Mickel of Ross Andrew Winery.

I made sure that I arrived just after noon on Saturday for Gorman Winery’s release event. Chris only opens up the winery once of twice a year so it’s a not to be missed event. Seattle Magazine has even elevated him to cult status. I’m happy to be a part of that cult.

While chatting with Chris Gorman on Saturday he mentioned that Food & Wine magazine listed 2006 The Bully as an alternative to 2006 Caymus Vineyards Special Selections Cabernet Sauvignon at $130 in the New World Cabernet Sauvignon category.
