Cooking it Up: Bobby Moore

by Shona Milne on October 21, 2009

Every once in awhile on a Wednesday evening Chef Bobby Moore does a cooking demonstration at Fireside Cellars at Willows Lodge. I was at the one last Wednesday where he made Butternut Squash Soup and Duck Confit. His demo is usually right in the middle of Happy Hour so I sipped on a glass of Chateau […]

Bin On The Lake: Grand Opening Bash

by Shona Milne on October 20, 2009

I was invited to attend the Grand Opening at Bin on the Lake in Kirkland Thursday. It was a not to be missed event. The place was packed. One of my favorite features is that there are 80 wines available by the glass in 1, 3, and 6 ounce pours. I love the idea that […]

by Shona Milne on October 16, 2009

It’s a bit of a drive up to Challenger Ridge at Concrete but worth it. We had an incredibly beautiful day to eat, drink, and grape stomp. Everyone and their dog was at this event. There was salmon and brat BBQ, live music, pumpkin bowling, sun and lots of delicious wine. I went through a tasting […]

Dirt to Glass: NW Totem Cellars

by Shona Milne on October 15, 2009

Last Saturday was another beautiful day to be working with grapes. I spent most of my day hand sorting out leaves, spiders, mold, and bugs from the Cabernet Franc grapes at NW Totem Cellars. After the sorting the grapes they run they through a destemmer to remove the stems and anything we missed. We sorted through 2.6 tons […]
