Chateau Ste. Michelle: New Syrah Launch

by Shona Milne on April 27, 2015

Today Ste. Michelle Wine Estates announced a new project called Tenet Wines, a joint effort with Rhone winemakers Michel Gassier and Philippe Cambie to raise the profile of Syrah and other Rhone varietals from Washington State.

To learn more about Tenet Wines, please visit http://www.tenetwines.com.

Tenet Wines consists of three wines: “Tenet” GSM (Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre) and “The Pundit” Syrah from Washington State’sColumbia Valley, and “Le Fervent” Syrah from the Costieres de Nimes in France’s Rhone Valley.

Chateau Ste. Michelle winemaker Bob Bertheau and Michel Gassier are co-winemakers for Tenet Wines. Philippe Cambie is consulting oenologist.

The three winemakers first convened in Washington State in the fall of 2012 to taste young wines from that year’s just-completed harvest. While all were impressed with the results – the 2012 vintage has since drawn high praise from critics and consumers alike – they decided to forego starting the project with the 2012 vintage and instead chose to [click to continue…]

Here is a new event from Woodinville Wine Country that takes place on Sunday, April 19th from 5pm to 9pm. Tickets available here.

As spring in the Northwest kicks off in mid-March, it’s time to start thinking of the great bounty of white and rosé wines that will soon become the selections du jour for every outdoor occasion when the temperatures start to rise.

Woodinville Wine Country, the nonprofit trade association responsible for building awareness of the quality and diversity of Woodinville wines and tasting experiences, is excited to debut a new event to their annual line-up—Woodinville Reserve: A White and Rosé Affair—which will preview top Woodinville winemakers’ spring selections.

This evening of food, wine and fun will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Novelty Hill Januik Winery.

Highlights of the evening will include:

·       A variety of hearty bites from award-winning Pacific Northwest chefs including:

o   Thierry Rautureau (Loulay and Luc, Seattle)

o   Elias Cairo and Alex Yoder (Olympic Provisions, Portland)

o   Bobby Moore (Barking Frog, Woodinville)

o   Seth Fernald (Novelty Hill Januik, Woodinville)

·       There are two levels of fun and unique experiences:

o   Upstairs will feature over 30 wineries’ whites and rosés

o   Downstairs, all guests are welcome to the Red Vault Room, featuring award-winning red wines

Event sponsors include Alaska Airlines Visa Signature, Butler Seattle, Marketplace Sotheby’s International Realty, Pedersen’s Rentals and Seattle Met magazine.

Tickets are $125 per person.

Bean and Aauuga

David LeClaire, beverage impresario, is holding a fundraiser at Factory Luxe on April 10th. The event is a “thank you” for those who donate to the fund providing training for Bean Fairbank’s new service dog.  The casual evening includes great craft beer, delectable Washington wine, rock and roll playing in the background, and – unlike keggers from our younger days – a cozy atmosphere. There may even be a “kissing booth” featuring the puppy!

Donate today and join us!
Friday, April 10th from 7-10pm
