I was out at the Winery Warehouse District this afternoon dodging raindrops, snowflakes, and hail this afternoon. I did make some discoveries about a new business and a winery that will open soon.
I spoke with Jon Parsons and Mark Pountain at Luxe Wine Cellars which has just opened. Luxe offers distinctive wine cellars solutions with custom cellars, modular racking, cooling, and door. Their vision is the relentless pursuit of perfection in all thing wine cellars. Jon and Mark told me they will be opening a wine tasting bar and may have rotating guest wineries pouring on site.
While visiting Patterson Cellars I ended up talking with Jeff & Sheila Jirka who are the owners of Davenport Cellars which will be opening up in June. The name for the winery came from Sheila’s maiden name. They will be located next door to Des Voigne Cellars. Jeff & Sheila took classes over at South Seattle Community College to learn about winemaking. Their focus will be primarily Cabernet dominated bordeaux, a Merlot dominated bordeaux blend, and a white bordeaux blend.

Great Blog, Shona. Glad to have a roving reporter in the Woodinville Wine Warehouse district reporting on the “happenings”. It’s a fun place to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for the information. Looks like a good idea to get the wineries to open up a bit more and get people out there to the warehouse district.
