I went to the Open House for Hollywood Hill Vineyards this afternoon and had a great time. They have recently relocated to Apple Farm Village right next to Village Wines. They were tasting their 2008 Roussanne which was just bottled in the past two weeks. I must say that it had a great flavor and I look forward to having a bottle on a nice sunny day which I hope will be very soon. They had three Syrahs available for tasting. The first was a 2005 Yakima Valley blended from Red Mountain and Rattlesnake Hills. This was my personal favorite with flavors of black cherries and peppery notes. It was fabulous with the smoked salmon dip. They have a limited supply of the 2005 left for purchase. The 2006 Rattlesnake Hills tasted of red plums and red fruit. The final Syrah was a 2006 Red Mountain which was jammy with red raspberries. Their open house runs through tomorrow at 4pm.
Becky mentioned to me about starting a Tasting Club in the upcoming months. The Tasting Club will gather together people to share and savor your favorite tastes of foods and wines.
