I decided to take my Mom for a belated birthday dinner to the Barking Frog last week. They are currently participating in Dine Around Seattle which has select restaurants offering 3 course dinners for $30 and 3 course lunches for $15. This runs Sunday through Thursday (except Thanksgiving) through the end of the month. This is a great opportunity to try out some of our local restaurants at great prices.
We did start with a plate our favorite Grand Marnier Prawns. I can’t go to Barking Frog or Fireside Cellars without having the prawns. Our entree was the Lamb Shank & Pappardelle Pasta with Cipollini onions, butter braised carrots, confit Chanterelle Mushrooms in a demi butter sauce. The lamb just melted in your mouth and I ate every bite. Everything paired well with a bottle of the Baer Shard which is crisp with no oak. Mom even got a candle in her dessert.
