Halloween week was a mad social whirl so it’s taken me a while to get to this. It began with the Cabernet Classic over in Shilshole which was a great opportunity to taste many local Cabernets and Cab dominated blends. Thursday was a Seafair Pirate Fundraiser where, of course, we were dressed as Pirates.
The night before Halloween it was Village People at Village Wines in Woodinville. Yes, the YMCA was performed to a very appreciative crowd as we sipped wine. A great party to warm up for the big events on Saturday night. I even got a kiss from the Grim reaper.
Halloween night started off at Willows Lodge to gather pirates, witches, and the Queens of Hearts to take part in a costume judging contest with the top prize being won by Arachnowoman. She won a night stay at Willows Lodge. The Queens of Heart were in attendance also and won second prize.
After Willows the party moved onto Edmonds Winery where the H1N1 flu was spotted checking out the nose on a red blend.
The final stop for the evening was Patterson Cellars which is the must attend event of Halloween. The Grim Reaper even made another appearance. I hope he is not stalking me. How can you pass up costumes, wine, pumpkin bowling, and food by Italianissimo? They were pouring their new Woodslake label of Due Anni, a red blend, Patterson Cellars Malbec, and Woodslake Syrah. I love the Due Anni. This is only their second year for this party but it’s definitely my favorite Halloween party. I even bumped into Father Chris Gorman and his private nurse. Unfortunately, I had nothing to confess.
