I sat down and talked with Melissa Peterman about the new site, Tate’s List. I would describe it as similar to Angie’s List for the food and beverage industry. It has all sorts of categories for the needs of winerys, breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and bars. It helps narrow down the search for what they need in the day to day running of their business. You can request information from a group of vendors with one click. They will also have a section for job postings. Tate’s List has recently launched and is a work in progress. You can email Melissa Peterman at melissa@tateslist.com to get a profile built.
The company is named after Tate Rogers who owned Nectar, bar and nightclub in Fremont for 10 years and it is backed by James Weimann and Deming Maclise (the guys behind Bastille, Poquitos, Stoneburner…etc.). To date we have more than 1300 restaurants and bars who have signed up for the service. Tate’s List has listings for everything you would need for your restaurant: produce, meat, insurance, but it is also a place for restaurant and bar managers to research beverages, including wine, beer, spirits and ciders.
We have 12 beverage distributors on board who have agreed to display their beverage catalogs, including Southern, Odom, Click, Cru, Vinum, Noble and Unique. And we are also giving self distributors level playing field to showcase their products with our Locals Only section. We are excited to bring this new tool to the restaurant and bar industry as well as provide another outlet for local beverage companies to get in front of this target audience.
