Woodinville Wine Country Appoints New Director

Woodinville, Wash.– July 1, 2013 – Woodinville Wine Country, a non-profit trade association responsible for building awareness for the quality and diversity of Woodinville wines and tasting experiences, announced Sandra Lee will join the organization as its new Director effective July 8, 2013.

Lee brings more than 15 years experience in catering, marketing and special events to the position, including work for such groups as the Washington State Trade Convention Center and at the Future of Flight Foundation at Paine Field Everett.  For the last year, she has worked for JB Consulting Systems, an HR and business services consulting firm.  Prior to JB Consulting, she served for two years in Shanghai China where she worked as a magazine managing editor.

Lee joins the organization almost a year to the day after Woodinville Wine Country launched its new strategic plan to promote wine tourism.  “Sandra’s expertise in marketing and event planning will allow us to build on the programs and partnerships we have put in place over the last 12 months to grow awareness for Woodinville’s world-class wines,” said Woodinville Wine Country president Carol Munro.

Last summer, Woodinville Wine Country recruited Jamie Peha of Peha Promotions to serve as interim director and fast track the association’s strategic plan.  “This has been a year of terrific growth for Woodinville Wine Country, and Jamie’s contribution to the organization has been invaluable,” said Munro.  Over the last year, the association has revitalized existing Woodinville Wine Country events such as St. Nick’s Open House Weekend; strengthened the organization’s involvement in community events such as Taste Washington and Celebrate Woodinville; launched a new web site; expanded membership benefits through business workshops and other programs; and introduced Woodinville ZIP, a new tasting room program aimed at Woodinville area residents.

Conveniently located 25 minutes northeast of downtown Seattle, Woodinville is home to almost 100 Washington wineries and tasting rooms.
