Seattle, Wash.- Dates for the Winemaker Olympics and Festival of Washington (formerly the Woodinville Winemakers’ Triathlon) have been set, and the event will take place Wednesday, July 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Redhook Brewery grounds in Woodinville, Washington. This year’s festival features over 40 local winemakers and brewmasters, restaurants and gourmet food trucks, live music and, as the highlight, the Winemaker Olympic Games!
The Winemaker Olympic Games will put teams of winemakers competing against each other in such events as the Barrel Roll (winemaker inside) and the Cork Toss. The public is encouraged to join in on the fun with additional games such as wine bottle ring toss, trivia and more.
Festival attendees will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the winemakers in a casual and fun environment. Find out the secrets behind producing that delicious bottle of Cab, learn their stylistic approach, or maybe just challenge him or her to a game of ring toss. However you’d like to spend your mingling time, the winemakers are happy to enjoy in the festivities with their friends and fans!
The festival’s goal is to raise both awareness and funds for Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that provides assistance to wounded service personnel and their families. This year’s event is produced by Barrel Wine Tours, who has contracted with New Growth Event Solutions for operational support.
Admission tickets are $49 and go on sale June 1 via the website http://www.winemakerfest.com. Ticket price includes festival admission for one person, a commemorative tasting glass, 10 wine tasting tickets and one food plate ticket. Additional wine, beer and food will be available for purchase as well. All festival attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
