It was raining cats and dogs on Thursday evening for the Third Thursday Wine Walk Bottles & Dogs in the Warehouse District to benefit Homeward Pet. That did not stop quite a few people and their dogs from some winery hopping over some puddles. Tulip, on the left, didn’t worry about puddles and just rode along from winery to winery in a purse.
I also came across Rose’, a Springer Spaniel and a Homeward Pet rescue dog that was adopted 
from seeing a mention of Homeward Pet on this web site. I made a difference! She is living the good life with Gary and his wife.
The next 3rd Thursday Wine Walk is Halloween at the Warehouse on Thursday, October 21st. Homeward Pet will be the charity that benefits in October also. Bring your dogs again next month and everyone should dress in costume.

Thanks for mentioning Rose. She is a wonderful dog, an 11 year old purebred with good training. The family that had her lost their jobs, then their house and Rose was given to Homeward Pet, a non kill agency. The dealings with Homeward Pet were easy and relaxed. We tried out Rose for a couple of days and immediately fell in love with her. Now she has the forever home that she deserves. She brings much joy to our life. We did see Homeward Pet on your website.

Of all the wine walks I have done, this had to be the most fun and entertaining! My favorite part was when that huge Great Dane nearly knocked over my table so he could get to the dog treats. I want to thank everyone one who braved the rain to come help raise funds for Homeward Pets. And Shona, I cannot thank you enough for all the time you spent getting the word out about the event. I will love to see the costumes (both human and dog)that show up for the last 2010 Third Thursday Wine Walk on Oct 21st (and since we didn’t raise as much money as we wanted to for Homeward Pets, I am once again going to donate my portion of ticket sales to the rescue).

Gary, will we see Rose’ at the October 3rd Thursday Wine Walk in costume? Donations for October go to Homeward Pet again. Dogs and people welcome and everyone is encouraged to come in costume.
