WBC10: Speed Wine Tasting

Part of the Wine Blogger Conference was an hour of white wine speed tasting and an hour of red wine speed tasting. I truly have mixed feeling on wine speed tasting. You get to taste through twelve wines in one hour and you just go with your immediate response with a sip or two and you have to spit.  The winemakers have a tough job jumping from table to table and only have about five minutes to present themselves and their wines. It’s tough to really take many notes and remember what you tasted through. Some wines and winemakers will stand out. I do think it’s a good way to be introduced to wines from an area which you are not familiar. Kudos to the winemakers for running around from table to table and telling about us and their wines.
