Fortunato’s: One Less Wine Shop in Woodinville

by Shona Milne on June 21, 2010

I received an email from Fortunato’s wine shop in Woodinville this week telling me that Saturday, June 19th would be their last day in business. I hate to see anyone go out of business but a wine shop closing is unthinkable. I don’t have many details other that they were trying to re-negotiate their lease.

During the past several months, we have been attempting to re-negotiate the lease options with the current property management and owner of this building. The negotiations did not achieve the results we had sought. After an extensive deliberation process and considering all possible options, Team Fortunato’s has made the decision to close our doors.

Taking into consideration the shop’s annual growth rate (present economic times notwithstanding) against the unoccupied building and unrealistic lease requirements, Fortunato’s is not able to sustain ongoing operations. Our last day will be this Saturday, June 19, 2010

Over the past 7 years we have experienced great loyalty and built many friendships with our customers throughout the Eastside, especially in Bothell and Woodinville.

Stop by this Friday and Saturday to enjoy some food and purchase some wine at greatly discounted prices.

Lastly we want to extend a very sincere thank you to each and every one of you for your loyalty and support of Fortunato’s. Your words of encouragement during our recent family crisis have been sincerely appreciated.

We wish the best to all of you and hope to see you again in the near future. Please look for our emails in the coming weeks!

Both of us will miss you folks very much; as well as the team members we work with. Please tell us where you will be so we can visit as soon as possible. Deep regards,

Good riddance. Rudy had me delivery books…lots of books and failed to pay me. This goes back a couple years ago when he had his shop in Bothell. Despite repeated attempts to be paid, Rudy never delivered. It was never his attempt to pay. He stole. There is a reason he went out of business folks and it went way beyond the current economy.

I have known Rudy for over 20 years on a business and personal level. If you have an email address or telephone number to contact him I would greatly appreciate it. Due to respect for his privacy please either reply or have him reply to my email address above. I believe he will know who I am based on my email name.
Thank You

I’ve asked a couple of people if they have other contact info for Rudy. I’ll let you know if they have something different.
