I attended at Tweetup on Tuesday night at Russell’s Dining & Bar to taste and tweet about Cooper: A Red Mountain Winery. Cooper Wine Company is located on Red Mountain and released his first wine in late 2009.
We started the tasting with a 2008 Cooper Pinot Gris from Columbia Valley. It’s 100% Pinot Gris and it’s a refreshing wine. We went to my favorite wine of the night, the 2007 Cooper L’inizio form the Columbia Valley. L’inizio means the beginning. I think it’s a good omen that they picked this name for their first release. His final wine was a Columbia Valley 2007 Cabernet which was also wonderful with rich cherry flavors.
Sean Sullivan of Washington Wine Report gave all the wines we tasted Tuesday an “Excellent” rating and has more in depth details on the wine. Other tweeters in attendance were @DivaTink who organized the event, @coop_cwc who poured his wines, @YasharSeattle, @SeattleWineGal, @nicloleevents, @TarynMiller, @LittleBlue. A special thank you to Russell’s Dining and Bar for all of the delicious food. I loved the panchetta wrapped shrimp in the soup spoon. Delicious.
