2010: What’s Your New Year’s Wine Resolution?

untitledOK, it’s 2010 and we have moved forward another year and even into a new decade.  One of my resolutions is to take more road trips to Washington wineries. My other wine resolution is to work on my Wine Century and taste 100 wine varietals. Share with me what your wine resolution will be for 2010.

We are very excited about a food and wine project that we hope to launch in February. Looking forward to turning a LOT of people onto Washington wines at the Wine Bloggers’ Conference in Walla Walla in June.

Shona, I got into the Wine Century club a couple of years ago. I would love to set up a local chapter and have some tasting events so we can knock off a bunch of grapes in one event. I’m going for my Double Century (200) certificate!

There is no local chapter at this time. I think the closest one is in Eastern Washington. Perhaps we could set up a chapter?

I sent an email this morning asking what to do to set up local chapter. Will keep you posted. Might stop by today.

To spend my wine dollars in LOCAL wine shop and wineries only! No more QFC or Safeway purchases while grocery shopping. A special trip to my local wine shop or winery is well worth it to support local business.

My wine resolution is to buy my wine directly from the winery or to buy it from a local shop (no more Costco or grocery store). If for some reason I’m in a pinch I will only buy local wine from Costco.

Actually, I have about ten of those resolutions; among them are: explore English wine and German sparkling wines; look harder for esoteric grape varietals and do more blind tastings. For more see:
