Tasting & Tweeting: At Grand Cru Wine Bar

by Shona Milne on September 17, 2009

ttI was invited to a Taste and Tweet on Monday night at Grand Cru Wine Bar. I have to say it was one of the best wine tasting experiences I’ve had. We were working hard tasting the wine with the fabulous food pairings.  It is a challenge to taste, tweet, talk, and listen to the food and wine descritpions. It’s difficult to say which was may favorite, they were all so good. I have to narrow it down to the Thai Crab Cake with the 2007 Lachini Pinot Gris and the Pan Seared Flat Iorn Steak and Sauteed Prawns with the 2008 MollyDooker “The Boxer” Shiraz. Does anyone know why the Boxer on the MollyDooker lable has two left handed gloves on? I really enjoyed every pairing the Grand Cru had for us. You can see in the picture how hard we are working at Tasting and Tweeting.

Grand Cru is more of a Wine Bar with exceptional food with a focus on pairing the right food and wine for their customers. Their wine shop is right next door so if anything takes your fancy you can pick up a bottle on your way out.

Shona,

Thank you for the kind words – we were very happy to have you attend the event and share your “tweets” with the audience about Grand Cru and our Taste and Tweet events. Much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again at another “Taste and Tweet” event.

Blaine: I hope to be invited to another Taste and Tweet. It was a great experience and wonderful to meet some fellow blogger/tweeters.

Talk about a sterile environment. This establishment will have a difficlut time making it more than 12 months. Nothing more intimate than having to yell at your date over a bottle of Peter Michael. I’d rather enjoy a bottle of wine at a Rodeo

I do agree about the noise level. Very hard to carry on a conversation.
