My friend Maureen and I have been doing a Favorite Summer Sipper contest throughout the summer on Wednesdays through Twitter. We decided that we need to wrap it up as the end of August was fast approaching. We headed back out to Fortunato’s, which has been our spot of choice for tastings recently. We had to taste though seven different wines and try and decide what we like the best. We tasted DavenLore Riesling, Kings Estate Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley Vintners Pinot Gris, Sokol Blosser Evolution, Indian Creek White Pinot Noir, J Bookwalter Novella Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, and NW Totem Cellars Late Harvest Viognier. We picked the Late Harvest Viognier of the two dessert wines, the Indian Creek White Pinot Noir we granted special mention as we could not put it in a category, and the DavenLore Riesling won for summer white category. None of this was scientific, just a couple of friends sitting around tasting and talking. We enjoyed sipping all of the wines. We are planning on starting another favorite wine series in October. You can follow me on Twitter @Shona425.

You guys are too kind! Thanks, we are glad you enjoyed them as I am sure it was hard work!
Only 40 cases left so come and see us Saturday 12-4.
ENjoy the research for “fall” tasting!

It was brutal tasting seven wines. Oh, the life I lead. I’ll try and swing by on Saturday.
