EU: Adopts New Labeling Rules

I know this will come as good news to many of you who are confused by European wine labels. One of my tried and true rules, when I have no idea what to pick in a hypermarket in Calais, is to go with a label that has a chateau on it. It’s worked for me for years but I would like to know if I an picking a Syrah, Cab, or a Merlot. According to Kumkani EU winemakers can now put on vintages and varietals.
