Two local Kirkland businesses, Pondera Winery and Howard/Mandville Gallery, have joined forces in a special fund raising effort for Pasado’s Safe Haven, an animal rescue and advocacy organization. Pondera has produced a special limited edition bottling called Rally Red, featuring the art of Connie Townsend on the label. Connie’s joyfully outrageous oils of dogs and cats driving cross country in everything from motorcycles to vintage trucks will be featured in the gallery’s July show titled, Art to the Rescue — Paintings of Our Faithful Animal Friends. There are ten other nationally recognized artists also participating including Susan Blackwood, Will Bullas, Fred Calleri, Cheri Christensen, Michael Ferguson, Howard Friedland, Karin Jurick, Craig Kosak, Sueellen Ross and Butler Steltemeier. Each of these artists brings their own unique, characteristic style of portraying animals to the show, making this a high quality, diverse collection of over 40 paintings. The gallery is located at 120 Park Lane in downtown Kirkland and will feature Art to the Rescue thru July 16th.
Pondera Winery, the gallery and all of the participating artists will be donating a percentage from every sale during this event to Pasado’s Safe Haven.
Pondera Winery is a small boutique winery specializing in high quality red wine blends sourced from some of Washington State’s best vineyards. Rally Red is a blend of 75% Syrah, 12% Merlot, 7% Sangiovese & 6% Cabernet Franc and is a very limited bottling of under 100 cases and sells for $25 bottle.
