DUSTED VALLEY VINTNERS TO ADD WOODINVILLE TASTING ROOM

Walla Walla, WA June 17, 2009 – The owners of Dusted Valley Vintners, a Walla Walla-based wine producer, have secured space in the Hollywood Vineyards Retail Center in Woodinville for the Dusted Valley Wine Gallery, a wine tasting room & visual arts gallery anticipated to open July 1st.

The winery, founded in 2003, produces premium cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah and blends, as well as chardonnay and viognier under the Dusted Valley label.  Production philosophies focused on sustainable estate vineyard practice and a unique estate barrel program have helped develop distinct wines and a large following.  More recently, the winery launched Boomtown to meet the need for a family-owned value brand in the “booming” Washington wine industry.  Boomtown was recognized as one of the nation’s top-nine value brands in 2008 by Wine & Spirits magazine.

“Having a presence on both sides of the state is an opportunity to personally show more wine fans what Walla Walla can produce,” says co-owner Chad Johnson.  “While we love hosting folks at our Walla Walla tasting room, Woodinville offers an easy alternative for the majority of the state’s population that lives in the greater Seattle area to enjoy and learn more about Dusted Valley Vineyards’ wines.”

“Most of the 500-plus members of our wine club, the ‘Stained Tooth Society’, live in Western Washington,” noted co-owner Corey Braunel.  “Our Dusted Valley Wine Gallery in Woodinville will make it possible for us to offer more events for our dedicated followers and create new fans.”

As indicated by choosing the name “Dusted Valley Wine Gallery”, the winery is dedicated to displaying original two- and three-dimensional works by local and regional artists on an eight week rotation of exhibitions.

The co-owners have selected M. Catherine Hay to serve as General Manger of the Dusted Valley Wine Gallery.  “Catherine brings many years of valuable experience in the retail, import and wholesale segments of the wine industry,” notes Chad Johnson.  “Her extensive knowledge of wines will benefit visitors to the Wine Gallery and her experience producing diverse wine-related events will be a boon for members of Dusted Valley’s ‘Stained Tooth Society’ wine club.”

Woodinville, home to over 40 wineries, is recognized as THE destination for winery touring in Western Washington.  “Wineries and their tasting rooms are like grapes, they grow best in bunches,” said Cynthia Dasté, executive director of Woodinville Wine Country.  “The experience of our member wineries is that their visitors really like the convenience of having a variety to choose from in one location.”

The tasting room will be located near the Hollywood Schoolhouse at the intersection of 148th Avenue N.E. and N.E. 145th Street, near other wineries including Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Winery, DeLille Cellars, Brian Carter Cellars and the Bookwalter Winery Tasting Studio.  The winery’s website is www.dustedvalley.com.
