For the first time, I attended Taste Washington. There were over two hundred wineries under one roof. There were also sixty restaurants. I’m not sure how many of the wineries and restaurants I tasted the wine or food but you have got to pace yourself to enjoy Taste Washington.
Some of the wines that stood out on Sunday afternoon: Baer Winery: 2006 Ursa, Betz: 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon “Pere de Famille”, Cote Bonneville: Cote Bonneville DuBrul Vineyard, Dusted Valley Vintners: Stained Tooth Syrah, Efeste: Ceidleigh Syrah, Long Shadows: Pedestal Merlot, Quilceda Creek: Columbia Valley Red, Spring Valley Vineyards: Uriah, Two Mountain: Cabernet Sauvignon, Va Piano: Cabernet Sauvignon, Des Voigne: The Duke.
Favorite restaurants: bin vivant: BBQ brisket sliders, El Gaucho: NY Peppercorn steak, Cutters: Smoked Salmon Chowder, and Oceanaire Seafood Room: Campechana, a Mexican style ceviche.
I obviously could not get to every winery or restaurant in the four hours I was there and I tried to go to places that I don’t get to taste very often.
