I was at a One Year Celebration for O Wines at DeLille Cellars on Wednesday night. Stacy Lill and Kathy Johanson, the founders of O Wines, were on hand to celebrate with many of their volunteers.

O Wines donates 5% of every bottle to fund scholarships for low income, high potential girls in the Northwest. They have sold through their first vintage and they have funded four scholarships through the College Success Foundation.

Their new 2007 Chardonnay is from the Yakima Valley AVA. I like this release a bit better since it has less oak. It is a light dry Chardonnay with understated hints of vanilla and oak spice with a great price. Don’t forget that you are helping the education of girls with every bottle you drink.  You can find O Wines at local grocery store, wine shops, and warehouse stores.

Look for their red blend which should be out toward the end of summer or early fall. It will probably be a Cabernet, Merlot, & Syrah blend. I love red blends and look forward to helping out by drinking a few bottles myself.
