This just landed in my in-box. This is a tragedy for Woodinville. The Golden Goat is a revered institution and Jeffrey was a great man.
Dear Friends Old and New:
It is with crushing pain in my heart that I would like to let you know that Jeffrey Boswell, owner of The Golden Goat/ IL Capretto D’oro passed out of this world. He was diagnosed on December the with acute leukemia and after everything humanly possible was done to save him he died on his own, after suffering a massive stroke. He died at 7.40 PM on December 9th.His family members and myself were with him.
I know that he would have wanted me to thank you all for your patronage over more than 13 years he has been the owner and chef in the restaurant, and that he would have wanted you to know he is not with us anymore. I know that all of you will miss him and all that he has created, the good times you had there, the food, the wine, and his presence there.
If any one would like to contact me in this matter please e-mail me directly at siminabus AT gmail DOT com.
Some of you do not know me by name, but if you came in his restaurant you know me from there, having been there to greet you for the past 6 years.
Thank you all again,
Simina Bus, host/server at the Golden Goat in Woodinville Washington

It was a loss for Woodinville and the wine community.

I am so sad to learn of the death of my dear high school friend, Jeff. We attended Arcadia, CA HS and were constantly “ribbing one another” on a daily basis. My husband and I have eatten at the restaurent on two occasions when were were in the Woodenville area and Jeff and I shared some good laughs and stories of the past together. i will miss visiting with him when in the ares. We live in Sagle, ID now.
