Just a few steps from the Marcus Whitman Hotel is downtown Walla Walla and there are quite a few tasting rooms to visit. On Friday night of the Wine Bloggers Conference we had a chance to go on the Walla Walla Wine Walkabout and check out the local downtown tasting rooms. I did like the extra chalk drawing to help us with direction even though we had a map to guide us. On the tour were: Seven Hills Winery, Sleight of Hand Cellars (with Trust Cellars and SYZYGY), Skylite Cellars (with Riverhaven Cellars and Smasne Cellars), TRU Cellars, Otis Kenyon Wine (with Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars), Waterbrook Winery, href=”http://www.damawines.com/damawines/index.jsp”>DaMa Wines (with CAVU Cellars), Sinclair Estates Vineyards, Fort Walla Walla Cellars (with Kontos Cellars), and Nicholas Cole Cellars. I also managed to find K Vintners event and checked out some live music with a bit of live theater thrown in with some of Charles Smith’s Syrah. I can’t say that I took notes and worte down what wines I tasted. I just enjoyed the experience that Walla Walla presented for us. All the participating wineries are close together and it was fun to wander around the old downtown of Walla Walla with my fellow bloggers and enjoy the wines.
